From Therapy Rooms to Content Creation: My Journey to KidLogic Labs

Hi, I’m Leanne Pilgrim! I’ve spent over a decade walking alongside children and families as they navigate some of life’s hardest challenges. My career began in the world of mental health, where I worked as a child trauma therapist. In those years, I specialized in trauma-informed care, gaining advanced training in evidence-based approaches like Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Trauma Systems Therapy (TST), EMDR, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP).

Working with kids who had experienced abuse, loss, or overwhelming stress taught me something profound: children don’t heal through words alone. They heal through play, creativity, connection, and safe relationships.

Why I Started KidLogic Labs

KidLogic Labs was born from the idea that learning and healing can happen side by side. After years in clinical settings, I wanted to create something fresh, fun, and accessible. A place where families could explore big feelings in small, everyday ways.

KidLogic Labs blends my background in psychology with my love of design, storytelling, and hands-on creativity. Here you’ll find:

  • Parenting tools that help caregivers understand trauma, stress, and emotional development.

  • Social-emotional learning (SEL) activities that make it easy for kids to practice skills like mindfulness, self-regulation, and empathy.

  • Creative labs like the Feelings Lab and the Parenting Lab. This is a place where families can explore emotions with crafts, science projects, and games.

  • Digital downloads and resources you can use right away at home, in classrooms, or in therapy sessions.

My mission is simple: to help parents raise emotionally healthy kids who grow into compassionate, resilient adults.

Who I Am Beyond KidLogic

I’m also the founder of Leanne Pilgrim Consulting & Design, where I use my psychology background to build websites and digital experiences that connect with people on a human level. I love helping nonprofits, small businesses, and fellow creatives tell their stories online in ways that are clear, impactful, and true to their values.

And outside of work? I’m a mom of four, a yoga instructor, a lifelong learner, and a firm believer in the power of curiosity.

Why This Work Matters

We live in a world where families are pulled in a hundred directions, where kids face stress earlier than ever, and where parents often wonder if they’re “getting it right.” At KidLogic Labs, I want to take away some of that pressure. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be willing to show up with love, curiosity, and a toolkit of creative ways to connect.

Whether you’re a parent, teacher, or therapist, I hope you’ll find KidLogic Labs to be a space that sparks ideas, supports healing, and celebrates the messy, magical process of raising children.
